FAQ
0. What's the relation between Babo Kim Scans and Tierra Nevada?
Babo Kim Scans scanlates Kubera into English. Tierra Nevada did scanlations into German (not anymore).
1. What is the overlay plugin for, and how do I use it to read Kubera?
The overlay plugin was initially made by Oddsquad Scanlations, which has kindly shared it with us. It allows you to read the translations directly at the raws site, by displaying bits of scanlated translations over the images. The result looks just like any scanlation. This method supports the author, since Naver authors are paid according to views.
There are two methods for you to activate Oddsquad's overlay reader:
2. Where are the older chapters? Where is ch. 2-97?
Kubera was originally scanlated by The Company until ch. 2-96. The Company stopped scanlations at Naver's request when Naver started its own official translations. However, since Naver's translations weren't up-to-date, Babo Kim Scans was formed to continue scanlations using the overlay method.
Since the older chapters were not scanlated by Babo Kim Scans, they can't be uploaded as overlays unless The Company gives permission.
2-97 is now online with our own translation.
3. How long does it take for you to release chapters?
It depends. Currently, all of our staff members are from very different timezones, and may be delayed by school or work. The fact that Kubera is released on Monday/Tuesday rather than near the weekend is also problematic... However, we try to finish each chapter within a week.
4. Can I upload your scanlations of Kubera to manga sites like mangafox.com , mangahere.com etc.?
Please don't! It'd defeat the purpose of using the overlay method in the first place (supporting the author and not uploading Kubera outside of Naver's sites).
5. Will the German scanlations also use the overlay method?
The copyright issue is mostly with the English version.
At the moment, the German chapters will be released as full scanlation.
Note: German translations were dropped.
6. How else can I support the author?
There are several methods! You can:
7. How can I support Babo Kim Scans?
We're always looking for Korean translators. If you know someone, please send him/her our way.
If you've found mistakes in our scanlations, please let us know so we can fix them.
Otherwise, please enjoy the series!
